I was looking for some information on Mount Shasta volcanic activity, and so I did a search using Google I came across an interesting article on the USGS Website and it has a lot of very interesting information. Here is a link to the article for your information. Mount Shasta information. The article tells a little story of what they think the activity level of the volcano is. It states that 200 to 300 years ago it looks like their were some eruptions. Also their data points to information leading to eruptions every 800 to 1000 years. That seems like a long time, but maybe not for volcanos.
I don’t know how far away from the volcano would be considered a safe distance in case of an eruption. It is a very beautiful area, but I would prefer to be outside of any danger zone as far as having a house where I was going to be living full time.
